It’s now mid-autumn and people are starting to think about what they want to accomplish before year-end. We’ve done the same and have been trying to work towards providing the most value possible as organizations try to put a bow on 2021. A common request we’ve had is adding the ability to send out ad hoc surveys to employees whether it’s for performance reviews, ENPS, or an all-hands meeting, and we’ve finally released it to users. We have made a number of improvements to Key Results, specifically around the progress and visuals so that there is more clarity when you are reviewing them. Finally, we’ve completed a number of integrations that you can find in your organization settings.
You’ll find the new surveys module in the navigation bar on the left hand side of Hirebook. In the surveys module, you’ll be able to respond to any active surveys, view finished surveys (surveys that have expired), and view and download survey results for any survey for which you’ve been listed as a recipient of the answers.
Surveys can be created by admins in the Module Setup. Once created, admins can add questions, choose the recipients of the survey and the responses, and choose a due date. We’ll also be adding in templates in the coming weeks so that you don’t need to recreate your surveys from scratch each time.
We have once again improved KRs to be more user friendly. The key things we’ve improved this time around are:
Adding in progress calculations to target range type. We landed on scaling the progress of the KR from 100% down to 0% based on two standard deviations of the range. For example, if the target range is 100±10, and the current value is 80, the progress will be 50% because it is one standard deviation of the range (10) away from the outer bounds of the target range (90). If the current value were to change to 70 and lower, or 130 and higher, the progress would be 0%.
In the near future, we will be adjusting the progress bar design to better represent the change. Here’s a sneak preview of how it will look:
We’ve also changed the color of our overflow progress because red just wasn’t the right color. Usually blowing past your target is a positive thing, so why should it be red?! You’ll now find overflow progress in a much more appropriate dark blue.
We’ve been working towards building a scalable model for integrations so that we can add them as fast as you can request them. As we move into this model, our first integrations we tested were Jira, Asana, and Hubspot. You can find them all live now in your Organizations Settings. You can expect this list to begin growing rapidly in the near future, and if you have any integrations that you’d like to see for your OKRs, just let us know and we’ll work with you to get it built out!
